The story belongs on the product page

Most brands with a history keep it in one place. There is an About page, sometimes a timeline, sometimes a film. It is often the best writing on the site. Then you open a product and it is a photo, a price and a button.

That is not a content problem. It is a theme problem. A stock theme has one product template and it was designed to sell anything, so it carries nothing that is specific to the thing in front of you. The story is two clicks away, which on a phone means it is not there.

The same template decides what else to show. Recommendation rows are usually built on recency or a shared tag, not on the category or the price band. I have seen a dining set offered beside a ring. Nobody chose that. The theme did, because it has no idea what the ring is.

What a custom storefront changes is not the shop. Products, checkout and orders stay in Shopify. What changes is that the product page is designed around the product, so the material, the maker, the period and the care notes sit beside the piece rather than behind a tab. Related items come from the same family. The photography is shown at the size it was shot for.

None of this needs a big brand. It needs a brand with something to say about what it sells, which is most of the ones worth building for.

This is my custom Shopify storefronts service.
